I’m Yong Xing, the Founder of Abiding Heart, and I’d love to share a snapshot of our story with you.
Abiding Heart was born during the pandemic on November 1, 2020. This journey began as something deeply personal, bringing healing to me in a season of brokenness. What started as a personal path toward restoration has since blossomed into a vision to empower women through creativity.
As a pharmacist by profession, I never considered myself particularly creative or experienced in the arts or business. The learning curve was steep, and there were moments when I questioned whether I should continue. But having experienced how dreaming and creating brought life back to my soul, I became passionate about helping others do the same. This dream would not have become a reality without the unwavering support of friends and family.
Creating has brought immense joy into my life, connected me with amazing people, and opened doors to support marginalized communities—including hiring refugees. We collaborate with refugee women in our creative process to empower them to dream beyond their current circumstances.
From our humble beginnings at Hin Bus Depot in Penang to international connections and collaborations, Abiding Heart has grown into more than just a business. It’s a platform designed to inspire women to embrace their unique beauty and identity.
At its core, Abiding Heart is a testament to how brokenness and hopelessness can be transformed into beauty and purpose. When you wear our pieces, you’re wearing hope and a dream.
Today, our team comprises women from diverse backgrounds and nations who share a common belief in empowering women. Driven by our desire to see more refugee women find meaningful work and be empowered, we continue to dream boldly and create beauty.
